Nichols Bothers Boats is doing the welding and the assembly work on all the aluminum parts.

In our last newsletter we showed you pictures  of the aluminum pilot houses   being welded, fitted and painted at Nichols boatyard.

These new pictures show you the pilot house being lifted by a crane and placed into position on top of the other welded aluminum sections.

Nichols Brothers is completing the three “grand modules” that make up the Ferry and the three completed chunks will be barged down to Todd Pacific shipyards in January where they will be set on the steel hull of the Ferry and welded into place.Pilot House

Everything above the car deck is made from aluminum.   The hull of the Ferry is made from steel and is being fabricated at Todd Pacific Shipyards in Seattle.
